Ryan Sharma, PsyD
People come to me when they are feeling stuck, trapped, or boxed in and want someone warm and non-judgmental who will help them take their life back. Sometimes it's just a matter of getting some perspective, learning a few skills, or understanding our selves a little better so that we are no longer dominated by our fears, insecurities, or unfortunate life circumstances. My mission is to help clients get back to living a life that is meaningful and guided by what they truly value.
I am board certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology in cognitive and behavioral psychology (often referred to as CBT) and specialize in anxiety disorders, including stress management, generalized anxiety, panic disorders, phobias, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. I also integrate a lot of mindfulness training and experiential learning from acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), all of which is strongly supported by science and research.
I also specialize in exposure and response prevention, which is the treatment of choice for many high-level anxiety disorders. Struggling with anxiety can be terrifying and exhausting, and I want clients to know that they don't have to deal with these issues alone.
Thank You for visiting my site.
It's probably comforting, although unfortunate, to know that anxiety is surprisingly common. Nearly 1 in 5 people will have an anxiety disorder at some point in their life.
Please peruse this site to learn more about anxiety and what the treatment looks like. If you have never been in therapy before or are considering me as a therapist, I encourage you to read through the Information for Clients. You can also call me for a free phone consultation.
Even if you do not wish to enter therapy at this time, I would be more than happy to help you get connected with information that could help you.
I wish you the best,
Ryan Sharma, PsyD, ABPP
